I am interested in cognitive neuroscience with a very special interest in early language acquisition and bilingualism.
For this PhD project, I am working on phoneme acquisition and word learning in infants growing up in a bilingual environment, and more precisely in the case where the two spoken languages share a high amount of cognates. Here, my research focuses on Spanish-Catalan bilingualism. I am investigating how the lexical similarity and the phonetic overlap between these two languages affect the acquisition of phonetic categories.
